Players play for points to win games. Winning the most games wins a set. Winning the most sets wins the match. Points are named 0, 15, 30, and 40. Normally the first point after 40 wins the game. If both players are at 40 this is called Deuce. At Deuce, a player must win by two points to win the game. The first such point is called Advantage.||To win a set, a player must win the minimum number of games and at least 2 more games than the opponent. The first player to win the specified number of sets wins the match.||One player serves for a complete game. Serving alternates with each new game. The initial service must bounce once in the opposing player's service court before being returned. On successive returns the ball may be hit before it bounces. If the ball bounces twice before a player can return it, that point is lost. Returning a ball into the net or out of bounds also results in loss of that point.
